Festivals are the best, they feel like one happy place. But when everyone heads home, the campsite tells a different story. Leftover waste. Abandoned tents. Piles of gear no one wants to carry back. That’s such shame…
Last year we tried this for the first time. Together with Kultlab we cleaned up Wilde Weide and Wildeburg and managed to save around 120 tents. It was a huge step for us, but also chaotic. We had wet tents piling up, tricky logistics and plenty of lessons learned. This year was felt completely different.
What changed in 2025
We teamed up again with Kultlab and Decathlon, but this time we also Camp Again to the mix. With their support we could organize everything much smoother. Our volunteer crew knew exactly what to do. We cut, packed and sorted tents directly on the festival terrain. That meant no more storing damp tents that would mold, but driving them straight to the social workspace after the festival (yeah, we were pretty tired).
The result:
- Around 200 tents rescued from Wilde Weide and Wildeburg
- That’s more than 67% more than last year
- Stronger partnerships and a way better workflow
What happens next
Not all tents can be reused. The ones beyond repair are being washed, re-impregnated and cut into usable fabrics. These will be used for our production and they form the base of our designs.
In the meantime, we are rethinking what we have made. We will never stop improving, so expect even better design for the next collection that will launch later this year (maybe even a new bag, who knows🤫)
